Imphal: Personnel of the Indian Army nabbed four suspected cadres of the outlawed militant outfit, United National Liberation Front (UNLF), in Thoubal district of ethnic violence-hit Manipur. The UNLF is one of the oldest insurgent groups in Manipur.

According to defence sources, a 51 mm mortar and an anti-personnel bomb were recovered from the arrested UNLF cadres at Lilong.

The UNLF militants were traced by a mobile vehicle checkpost near the Lilong police station on Monday night.

The four UNLF militants were traveling in two separate vehicles. The security forces had intelligence reports about their movement. After arrest, the Army personnel handed over the militants to the Manipur police.
