4 Women Arrested for Holding Kangaroo Court in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate of Police has arrested four women for holding a Kangaroo court and torturing a young girl after tying her to a pole.

The accused were identified as Rasmita Patra, Manjulata Barik, Jamini Pradhan, and Laxmi Singh.

The incident has come to the fore from Jagannath Leprosy colony under Mancheswar police limits of Odisha’s capital city. On being informed, police reached the spot and rescued the woman. After rescuing, the woman was rushed to the hospital as she sustained several injuries.

According to reports, deep injury marks were spotted on the hand and the body of the woman. The woman, after undergoing medical examinations and will give her statement under Section 161 of CrPC.

Reportedly, the family of the victim restricted her from talking to a youth to which she did not agree. That’s why she was allegedly tortured all night.
