7 Including a Child Die as Bus with Marriage Party Falls into Canal in AP

Kakinada: Seven persons, including a child, died and a dozen others were injured when a bus carrying a marriage party fell into a canal in Andhra Pradesh’s Prakasam district on Tuesday.

The marriage party was traveling to Kakinada from Podili. It plunged into the Sagar canal near Darshi. At the time of the accident, around 40 persons were traveling in the ill-fated bus.

It is suspected that the bus driver dozed off at the wheel because of which the accident occurred.

The bus that met with the accident was owned by the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC), which was taken on rent by the marriage party.

The deceased included a six-year-old child.
