7 Killed 8 Injured in Church Shooting in Hambug of Germany

At least seven persons died and eight others were injured in an indiscriminate firing at a Jehovah’s Witness church in the German city of Hamburg, on Thursday night. This incident of shooting occurred at around 9 pm local time. Earlier security personnel had recovered six bodies from the building. Later one more body was found on the upper part of the building.

According to German Police sources, the gunman behind this mayhem is believed to be dead. But it is yet to be ascertained for sure whether the attacker is among the seven fatalities or not. But police officials say, no one escaped out of the building, so there is no chance of a fleeing perpetrator.

Hamburg’s Mayor Peter Tschentscher expressed his condolences to the victims’ families and said police are trying to track down the culprits behind the incident.

The church that faced this attack is located in Hambug city’s Gross Borstel district, about 289 km from Berlin.

The reason behind this shooting is yet to be established. German police have appealed to the public not to share assumptions or to spread rumours, the BBC reported.

Jehovah’s Witnesses are members of a Christian-based religious movement with its headquarters in America’s New York.
