81-Yr-Old Man Arrested for Sexually Assaulting 4-Yr-Old Girl in WB

Kolkata: An 81-year-old man, Bankim Chandra Ray was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl in West Bengal’s Malda district. On Friday evening a girl playing near the Gajol area was lured with a bar of chocolate by the accused. The accused took her to a nearby deserted area and sexually assaulted her.

Hearing about the incident from the crying girl, who complained about pain in her private parts, the girl was immediately rushed to the hospital by her family. The doctors confirmed that the girl had been sexually assaulted and her condition was critical.

The girl’s family registered a complaint at Gajol police station regarding the incident. Following the FIR, the police arrested Roy from his home located near the victim’s house. Roy is said to have confessed to his crime during interrogation. A case was filed against the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
