AAP’s “Maha Rally” in Delhi Tomorrow Against Centre’s Ordinance, 1 Lakh Attendance Expected

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will hold a “maha rally” at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on Sunday to create public opinion against the Centre’s ordinance on control of services in the national capital. According to AAP leaders, around one lakh people will attend this public meeting.

This rally will be addressed by the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and several other top leaders of the party including Saurabh Bharadwaj, Atishi and Sanjay Singh.

AAP spokesperson Reena Gupta said they are expecting one lakh people to join the rally.

AAP is protesting against the ordinance issued by the Centre on May 19 to set up a National Capital Civil Service Authority. Through it, Centre wants to have executive control over matters related to services in the national capital.

This ordinance of the Central government followed a Supreme Court verdict on May 11, which gave the Delhi government executive control over service-related matters, including the transfers and postings of Delhi government officers but excluding those related to police, public order and land.
