Soren’s JMM to Support AAP in Opposing Centre’s Ordinance on Control of Delhi Adm Services

Ranchi: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Friday announced that it will support the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in opposing the Centre’s ordinance on control of administrative services in Delhi. The JMM took this decision following a meeting between Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and his Jharkhand counterpart Hemant Soren in Ranchi. Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann was also present during the meeting.

Addressing a press conference after the meeting, Kejriwal said that the ordinance has to be defeated in Parliament when it comes up for voting as a law in the forthcoming session.

Soren said, “The Centre’s attack on democracy is a matter of serious concern.”

“JMM will support AAP in opposing the Centre’s ordinance on control of administrative services in Delhi,” Kejriwal said.

Despite the Supreme Court verdict in favour of the AAP government (the Supreme Court had ruled that the control over transfer and posting of top bureaucrats in Delhi would vest with the state government), the Centre brought the ordinance, Mr Kejriwal added.

He described the movement against the ordinance “like a fight for independence”.
