Actor Sahil Khan Arrested in Mahadev Betting App Case

Mumbai: Mumbai Police have arrested actor and entrepreneur Sahil Khan in connection with the Mahadev betting app case. He was apprehended from Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, and is being brought back to Mumbai for further proceedings.

Khan’s arrest follows the rejection of his pre-arrest bail plea by the Bombay High Court.

Khan’s involvement is linked to ‘The Lion Book App’, suspected to be part of the Mahadev betting app network. Additionally, he is a partner in ‘The Lotus Book App’ and has actively promoted the platform. The Mumbai Police’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) had previously questioned Khan regarding the case.

The investigation revolves around alleged illegal transactions between financial and real estate firms in Maharashtra and the promoters of the Mahadev betting app. Khan, along with 31 others including Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Upal, is under scrutiny. The police are examining bank accounts, laptops, mobile phones, and technical equipment as part of the probe.

Sahil Khan is the first person to be arrested in the case, which has an estimated scam value of Rs 15,000 crore according to the FIR.
