ED Seizes Rs 36 Lakh Cash, 2 BMWs of Hemant Soren, “Missing” Jharkhand CM Arrives in Ranchi

New Delhi: Sleuths of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) seized two BMWs, Rs 36 lakh in cash, and some incriminating documents during searches at the official residence of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren in Delhi.

The Jharkhand CM disappeared mysteriously following the raid by the ED at his official residence in Delhi in connection with an alleged land fraud case.

It is being speculated that Soren may be arrested by the ED when he appears before them for questioning on January 31. Earlier, Enforcement Directorate (ED), declared Soren “untraceable”.

Amid speculations, Soren arrived in Ranchi on Tuesday. He is reported to have travelled to the Jharkhand state capital by road.

Meanwhile, all the MLAs of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led ruling alliance have been asked to remain in Ranchi and attend a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the state’s current political situation. The ruling in alliance in Jharkhand comprises the JMM, the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

Soren, in an email sent to the ED, said he agreed to record his statement in connection with an alleged land scam at his official residence in Ranchi on January 31 at 1 pm.
