ALH Dhruv Helicopter Fleet of Indian Army Grounded Following J&K Accident

New Delhi: The Indian Army grounded its entire fleet of Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv helicopters. This decision of the Indian Army follows the crash of one of ALH Dhruv choppers in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

An ALH Dhruv with three people on board crashed following a “hard landing” in Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. A technician was killed and two pilots were injured in the incident.

So, Indian Army decided to ground the whole fleet of these helicopters temporarily as a precautionary measure.

In March, the Navy and the Coast Guard grounded their respective ALH Dhruv fleets following similar accidents. ALH Dhruv choppers with the Navy and the Coast Guard are undergoing technical checks.
