Ants Will “Rain Down on People and Sting Them” in Hawaii

American authorities warned the inhabitants of Hawaii of fire ants invasion. Recently millions of fire ants have been discovered in the Kauai island of Hawaii.

Little Fire Ants (LFA) are considered one of the worst invasive species of the world. These ants can prove to be dangerous for pets, humans, and farming.

Hawaiian government officials have issued a warning that the ants are “falling from the sky” and will “rain down on people and sting them”.

Already there have been reports of people getting stung by these ants while they slept in their beds.

These tiny fire ants measure 1/16th of an inch long and are pale orange in colour.

The painful sting of these ants causes “large red welts” and may cause blindness in pets. They build up large colonies on the ground, in trees, and other vegetation. They can overrun buildings and homes completely.
