Asha Bhosle enters her 90s  

Bollywood’s legendary singer Asha Bhosle is celebrating her 90th birthday today. She was born on 8 September 1933 in Sangli, Maharashtra. Asha Bhosle was interested in music since childhood. This is why she started singing at the age of 10. Asha’s father died when she was 9 years old, and the family was in financial crisis.

This is why Asha entered the world of music with her sister Lata Mangeshkar. From the beginning, there was a musical atmosphere in the house as Asha Bhosle’s father Dinanath Mangeshkar was a well-known theater artist and classical music singer.

Asha’s musical journey, which began at the age of 10, was historic. She has sung more than 12,000 songs till then. Asha Tai’s personal life was full of ups and downs. When she was 16 years old, she married Ganpati Rao Bhosle, 16 years senior, against her family’s wishes. The marriage lasted only 11 years and both separated. After being single for 20 years, Asha Bhosle married RD Burman for the second time. RD Burman was 6 years younger than Asha Ji. This was also RD Burman’s second marriage. Both were very happy in their marriage but after 14 years RD Burman died.

Few people know that apart from her singing career, Asha Tai has also acted in a film. The name of the film was My. It was released in 2013.
