Asian Games 2023: India Win 1st Equestrian Gold In 41 Years, 3rd in This Edition

New Delhi: The Indian Equestrian Dressage Team won gold at the Asian Games 2023 on Tuesday. This is India’s first gold in the event at the Asiads.

The Indian team, comprising Sudipti Hajela, Divyakriti Singh, Hriday Chheda, and Anush Agarwalla clinched the gold in equestrian after 41 years. This is the country’s first in the sport since 1982. Judoka Tulika Maan is aiming to clinch India’s 14th medal at the Asian Games 2023 bronze medal as her match is about to start.

Including this India’s medal tally is now 14 at the Asian Games 2023. Earlier, Neha Thakur brought home silver in the Girl’s Dinghy – ILCA 4 category and Eabad Ali won bronze in the men’s windsurfer RS:X category.

India’s boxing star Sachin has entered the Round of 16. Later in the day, Wushu stars Surya Bhanu Partap Singh and Suraj Yadav will compete in their respective quarter-finals. A semi-final entry will assure India of at least bronze medals. Meanwhile, the Indian Men’s 4x100m Medley Relay Team qualified for the final with a timing of 3:40.84s, which is a national record.
