Asian Games 2023: Medals Pour for India In Shooting, Anant Jeet Singh Wins Silver in Men’s Shotgun Skeet Event

New Delhi: India’s Anant Jeet Singh won silver in the men’s shotgun skeet event at the Asian Games 2023 on Wednesday. Abdullah Al-Rashidi of Kuwait clinched gold with a perfect score of 60 equalling the World Record set by India’s Angad Vir Singh in 2018.

Earlier in the day, the Indian men’s shotgun skeet team bagged the bronze with a score of 355. Anant along with Angad Vir Singh and Gurjoat Siingh were placed below China and Qatar, who won gold and silver, respectively.

So far, eight medals have already come for India at the Asian Games 2023 on Wednesday, with shooters winning seven medals. Esha Singh produced a superb performance and won India’s 21st medal with a second-place finish in women’s 25m pistol final.

Shooters ushered in a golden morning for India at the Asian Games 2023 as the gold medal tally increased to 5. India is currently sixth in Asian Games medal tally. In 50m rifle 3-position, Sift Kaur Samra shot a world record score of 469.6 to clinch the gold while another Indian shooter Ashi Chouksey won the bronze medal in the event. Earlier, India also won gold in the women’s 25m pistol team event.

In the 50m rifle 3 positions team event, India won a silver. The men’s skeet team won a bronze medal too. Then Vishnu Saravanan added to the tally by winning a bronze medal in sailing.
