Bhojpuri Singer Arrested for Raping 13-Yr-Old Girl & Posting Her Objectionable Pictures

Gurugram: A Bhojpuri singer named Abhishek (21), popularly known as Babul Bihari) was arrested on Thursday on charges of allegedly raping a 13-year-old minor girl and posting her lewd pictures on social media.

This Bhojpuri singer has a mass following on social media and his YouTube channel has more than 27,000 subscribers.

According to the police sources, this incident of rape happened two years back. The victim had remained silent till the accused posted her pictures on Instagram a few days back. When asked by her family members, the girl disclosed her traumatic experience with her parents.

On Wednesday, the victim’s parents took her to a police station in Gurugram to lodge the complaint. An FIR against the accused was registered under the POCSO Act and the Information Technology (IT) Act at the Sector 14 police station of Gurugram.

The arrested accused was produced in a court and was sent to judicial custody as his bail plea was rejected.
