Blackmailed by Girl, Bhubaneswar Man Stabs Himself 50 Times with Scissors

Bhubaneswar: Suffering blackmail by a girl, a man named Dandadhar Barik tried to commit suicide by stabbing himself around 50 times with scissors in Nayapalli area of Bhubaneswar.

He was allegedly being blackmailed by a girl through a recorded WhatsApp video call.

The victim is married with two children. He runs a hair-cutting saloon in the Nayapalli area.

According to reports, he developed a friendship with an unknown girl, with whom he came in touch through Facebook.

Later, she made a video call to Dandadhar on WhatsApp. Using the recording of this video call, the unidentified girl started blackmailing him. The girl allegedly demanded money from him.

It is alleged that Dandadhar approached the local Cyber police, but no action was taken.

Fearing embarrassment before his family and society, Dandadhar took the drastic decision and stabbed his own abdomen with scissors repeatedly.

Locals found him unconscious in a pool of blood and admitted him to a hospital.
