Body of Missing Female Cricketer Found hanging in Jungle

Cuttack: The body of missing woman cricketer Rajashree Swain was found hanging from a tree inside a forest under Gurudijhatia police station limits in Cuttack district on Friday. Police are yet to ascertain whether it is a case of suicide or murder. But it has been confirmed that the recovered body was that of the missing woman cricketer.

Family members of the deceased woman cricketer blamed her coach and the OCA for her mysterious death.

This female cricketer from Odisha’s Puri district had gone missing from Cuttack. Her abandoned scooter was found in a forest in the Cuttack district.

According to sources, she was part of a 25-member female cricketers’ taking part in a training camp at the Bajrakabati area of Cuttack. They were training for a national tournament scheduled to be held in Puducherry.

The mysterious disappearance of Rajashree raised suspicion of some foul play.

All the 25 women cricketers undergoing training were staying in a hotel.

Rajashree could not make to the Odisha team declared on January 10. On January 11, she informed her coach that she was going to her home in Puri. But she went to Tangi instead.

From then on she has gone missing. Her coach has lodged a complaint at the Magalabag police station.

Rajashree’s parents approached the state sports minister at his residence on Friday urging efforts to trace out their daughter.
