Car Loaded with Ganja Worth Rs 20 Lakhs Seized in Ganjam; 1 Arrested

Berhampur: A car loaded with one quintal of contraband ganja was seized by Excise officials at Punji Kainya Chhak of Digapahandi in Odisha’s Ganjam district. One youth was arrested in this connection.

The accused was identified as Sabiul Islam of West Bengal’s Murshidabad district. Excise officials have also seized the car in which the ganja was being transported. The value of the seized property is estimated to be Rs 20 lakh.

Reportedly, the seized ganja was being smuggled from Gajapati district to West Bengal via Berhampur.
