CBI Arrests Commercial Head of News Channel in Delhi Excise Scam Case

New Delhi: The CBI has arrested Arvind Kumar Singh, the commercial head and production controller of India Ahead news channel in connection with its probe into the alleged Delhi excise scam.

Arvind Kumar Singh allegedly transferred Rs 17 crore to a company through hawala channels during the Goa elections. This company was handling the AAP’s publicity campaign.

CBI claims to have found WhatsApp chats and records of hawala operators proving that Singh was allegedly instrumental in the hawala transfers of Rs 17 crore between June 2021 and January 2022. The said company looked after the outdoor advertisement campaign for the Goa elections for the AAP. The Goa assembly elections were held on February 14, 2022.

It is alleged that the money transferred was linked to the Delhi government’s excise policy scam.
