Chhattisgarh Girl of Class 10 Swims Non-Stop for 8 Hrs to Enter Golden Book of Records

Raipur: Chandrakala Ojha, a 15-year-old girl studying in class 10 from Purai village in Chhattisgarh’s Durg district swum continuously for 8 hours to enter the Golden Book of World Records.

She is swimming since the age of 5. She hails from a family of national and state-level players. She has already won 3 gold and 2 silver medals in Junior Open National and State championships. Her elder sister Bhumika is a national swimmer.

Chandrakala started swimming at 5.10 am in a pond in Purai village, and she continued swimming till 1.10 pm. To set this new record, Chandrakala practiced for 10 to 12 hours daily.

Dr Manish Bishnoi, Asia Head of the Golden Book of World Records, announced her achievement and Jharkhand’s Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu awarded her with the Golden Book of World Record certificate and medal.
