CM Mohan Majhi Proposes ‘Kutumb Yojana’ Pension for Families of Freedom Fighters

Bhubaneswar: The families of freedom fighters of Odisha will soon be provided pension under ‘Kutumba Yojana, said Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday.

He made this announcement during an event to observe August Kranti Day, the anniversary of the Quit India Movement.

The CM added that his government is considering the long-standing demand for pension for families of freedom fighters and will initiate measures for it.

According to him, the families of the freedom fighter will soon be identified ahead of the implementing the scheme.

To mark the day, the CM wrote on X, “I bow down to the brave freedom fighters on August Kranti Diwas. Their selfless sacrifices and struggles for India’s independence from British colonial rule will always be remembered and revered as an inspiration for generations to come.”
