CM Naveen Patnaik Condoles Death of State Health Minister Naba Das

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik has expressed deep shock and distress over the unfortunate death of Health Minister Naba Das.

In a statement, the Chief Minister said, “I am shocked and distressed over the unfortunate demise of minister Naba Das.”

The doctors made every possible effort to save his life. But unfortunately, he could not recover, CM said.

He was an asset to both the government and the Biju Janta Dal party. He has successfully carried out many initiatives in the health department for the benefit of the people, Chief Minister added.

As a leader, he was instrumental in strengthening Biju Janata Dal, the CM said. He was a down-to-earth person and was loved and respected by all, cutting across parties and sections of people. His death is a great loss to the State of Odisha, he added.

Patnaik has prayed for peace and tranquillity of the departed soul and expressed deep sympathy for the bereaved family members.

Odisha Health Minister Naba Das passed away while undergoing treatment after being shot by an ASI in Gandhi Chhak square near Brajarajnagar in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district. He was undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital in Bhubaneswar.
