PM Modi Expresses Deep Grief Over Demise of Odisha Health Minister Naba Das

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the unfortunate demise of Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das.

In a tweet, he wrote, “Saddened by the unfortunate demise of Minister in Odisha Government, Shri Naba Kishore Das Ji. Condolences to his family in this tragic hour. Om Shanti.”

Odisha Health Minister Naba Das passed away while undergoing treatment after being shot by an ASI in Gandhi Chhak square near Brajarajnagar in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district. He was undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital in Bhubaneswar.

Naba Das, who sustained critical injuries after an ASI of police opened fire at him, has been airlifted from the Jharsuguda District Headquarters Hospital to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.

Odisha’s Health and Family Welfare minister Naba Kishore Das was shot at by an assistant sub-inspector of police in Jharsuguda district on Sunday. The ASI has been taken into custody for interrogation and investigation.

The man who fired at Das reportedly was in police uniform and he has been identified as ASI Gopal Das. As a policeman in uniform, Gopal Das could reach the Odisha Health Minister’s proximity to fire four to five rounds at his chest.
