CM Naveen Patnaik Receives Guinness World Records Certificate For Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium

Rourkela: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik received the Guinness World Records for the Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium.

The Guinness Book of World Records declared the Birsa Munda Stadium in Rourkela as the largest fully seated hockey stadium in the world on January 29, 2023.

“This recognition by the Guinness Book of World Records is a testament that our state has come a long way and made a mark on the international sports map. It is a matter of great pride for all of us and I thank everyone who was part of this project, to the people of Sundargarh and the hockey fans for their unconditional support of the sport. It inspired us to accomplish this herculean task. I dedicate this recognition to the people of Odisha,” said the Chief Minister.

CM Naveen Patnaik attended the pre-match ceremony of the FIH Pro-League match between India and Germany in Rourkela. He also attended the inauguration of Birsa Munda Athletic Stadium Complex, Hockey Training Centres.
