Congress to Distribute Guarantee Cards in Karnataka Ahead of Polls

Bengaluru: Karnataka state unit of the Congress has decided to distribute guarantee cards to voters from March 11. This was announced by DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah in a joint video statement.

Assembly polls in Karnataka are expected to be held in May. Keeping it in view, Karnataka Congress has launched its ‘guarantee card’, said KPCC president DK Shivakumar and CLP leader Siddaramaiah.

This guarantee card represents the Congress party’s assurance to provide Rs 2,000 every month to a woman in each household, 200 units of free power to all houses, free 10 kg of rice per month to each Below Poverty Line (BPL) family member, if the party comes to power in the state.

“We have announced three guarantees. Now, I request you to distribute guarantee cards to everyone in our constituency. One person should cover at least 50 households. I and Siddaramaiah are starting this initiative on March 11,” DK Shivakumar said on Friday.

“No matter where we are travelling, we will both visit each of the villages and will apprise people of these promises made by the Congress,” he added.
