Crime Branch Searches Septic Tank at Jharsuguda Airport to Trace Evidence

Jharsuguda: The Crime Branch last night searched a septic tank at the Jharsuguda Airport police station as accused Gopal Das had reportedly disposed of a handwritten letter in the latrine.

During interrogation, the accused, revealed that he had mentioned why he killed the minister in the letter and later flushed it in the latrine.

The investigating agency has taken him on a 4-day remand after getting permission in this regard from the Court of JMFC, Brajarajnagar.

A team from the investigating agency along with forensic experts is examining the vehicle used by the late minister at Badmal police station in Jharsuguda. A bullet had also hit the vehicle.

Earlier, the Crime Branch picked up Satyanarayan Das, brother of ASI Gopal Das to interrogate.

Notably, Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das was shot at allegedly by Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Police Gopal Das while he was coming out of his car to attend a party programme.

It is pertinent to mention here that ASI Gopal Krishna Das of Gandhi Chowk Outpost in Barajrajnagar while on traffic duty had shot Health Minister Naba Das from point-blank range while the Minister was alighting from his car to attend a programme.
