Delhi Experiences Strong Tremors as 5.8 Earthquake Shakes Nepal

New Delhi: Nepal was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 on the Richter scale on Tuesday afternoon. Its strong tremors were felt in Delhi and its surrounding areas. The tremors were felt for around 30 seconds, said locals. Tremors were also felt in some other parts of north India.

“An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 on the Richter Scale hit Nepal at 2:28 pm today,” National Center for Seismology (NCS) informed.

The epicenter of this earthquake was at a place 148 km east of Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand in Nepal at a place, said NCS.

Videos of ceiling fans and household objects shaking during the tremors were shared on social media by the residents of Delhi-NCR.  So far there have been no reports of damage caused by this earthquake.
