Direct Bhubaneswar-Colombo Flight Soon

Bhubaneswar: A direct flight from Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar to the Sri Lankan capital Colombo is all set to be launched soon.

Sri Lankan Airlines Regional Manager Veeraperumal Ravindran informed about this on Friday.

According to him, the Sri Lankan economy is showing signs of recovery and Sri Lankan Airlines is looking forward to add some more destinations especially in India.

Before the COVID pandemic, Sri Lankan Airlines was having flights to 11 destinations in India. Now it is operating in nine destinations — Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Cochin, Trivandrum, Chennai, Madurai and Trichy.

Apart from Bhubaneswar, the Sri Lankan Airlines is also planning to include Ahmedabad, Calicut and Goa under its flight expansion plan.
