Ditched by Lover, Secretly Married Woman Ends Life in Berhampur

Berhampur: A young woman was found hanging from a ceiling fan inside her rented house in Berhampur on Monday.

Writing on a suicide note found near the body of the deceased stated, “I have secretly married a man who is not accepting me. I can’t live without my husband. I made a mistake. No one is responsible for this.” Through the suicide note, the deceased woman requested her mother to conduct her funeral rituals like that of a married woman.

The deceased was identified as Anjali Behera from Dharakot area of Ganjam district. She was staying in a rented house in the First Gate area of the city under Bada Bazar police station limits.

Police seized the body and sent it for autopsy to ascertain the real reason behind her death. Further investigation is underway.
