Doctors find 187 Coins in Man’s Stomach  

Bengaluru: A man from Karnataka was found to have swallowed 187 coins of different denominations. When he suffered severe stomach pain, his relatives admitted him in Sri Kumareshwar Hospital of Hangal.

X-ray and endoscopy confirmed that there were a total of 187 coins in his stomach. These coins were removed from his body through surgery in a hospital in Bagalkot.

The coins recovered from his stomach included 56 coins of Rs 5, 51 coins of Rs 2, and 80 one rupee coins. All these coins weighed around 1.5 Kg.

The person, who had swallowed these coins, was Dyamappa Harijan, a resident of Lingsugur in Raichur district. It is suspected that because of mental illness he had consumed these coins during a period of two to three months.
