Drunk BHU Professor Injures 7 by His Reckless Driving

Varanasi:  Seven persons were hit and injured by a car driven by an inebriated professor of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi on Tuesday night. According to police sources, the professor was drunk while he was driving the vehicle.

The drunk driver has been identified as Assistant Professor Triyogi Nath of the Agriculture department of BHU.

According to eyewitnesses, the car driven by the professor was out of his control. It started hitting people on the road on Tuesday night. Some students of the university chased the accident-causing car and managed to stop it at a petrol pump near the BHU campus.

The angry students thrashed the allegedly drunk driver and handed him over to the university’s proctorial board. It was found that the drunk driver was none other than Assistant Professor Triyogi Nath of the Agriculture department of BHU.

The injured were sent to BHU’s trauma centre. None of teh injured registered any complaint against the drunk professor. The proctorial board sent the professor to a hospital for treatment and examination. The proctorial board has informed the police about the accident.
