Drunk Man Falls Into Boiling Hot Curry Cauldron in Tangi; Admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: An inebriated man fell into a cauldron full of boiling hot curry at Haripur village under Tangi police station limits on Sunday night.

The victim named Pratap Mahapatra, was shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar as his condition deteriorated.

According to reports, Pratap’s uncle was supervising the cooking of a mass feast of social function. Pratap, despite being in a drunk state started inspecting the food items. While doing so, he lost balance and fell into a cauldron full of hot curry and received serious burn injuries.

The locals rescued him and admitted him to the Tangi CHC. Later he was shifted to Bhubaneswar AIIMS.

In April last week, a 21-year-old youth died of burn injuries when he accidentally fell into a cauldron of boiling rasam in Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu. The deceased was a college student. He was serving as a part-time worker in a catering firm hired for the marriage feast.
