Elderly Woman & Her 2 Grandchildren Crushed to Death by Speeding Car in Talcher

Angul: Two children along with their grandmother died when a speeding car hit them on a village road at Gobara in the Talcher area of Angul district on Friday night.

Both these kids identified as Punam Pradhan, Gugu Pradhan, and their grandma Pramila Pradhan. The children were playing along with their grandmother on the road. The driver of the speeding car lost control and ran over them. Pramila died on the spot. Punam and Gugu were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) Angul in serious condition. But the doctors could not save them.

According to the villagers, the accident-causing driver was in an inebriated state during the incident. The villagers detained the driver and beat him up before handing him over to the police.
