EOW Files FIR Against Bharatpe Co-Founder Ashneer Grover And Family

New Delhi: The Economic Offences Wing has filed a first information report against the company’s embattled co-founder & former managing director Ashneer Grover and other family members.

The FIR has been filed against Ashneer Grover, Madhuri Jain Grover, Deepal Gupta, and other Jain family members after five months of investigation by the Delhi Police on the basis of the criminal complaint filed by the company.

Reportedly, the FIR was registered on Wednesday under sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 408 (criminal breach of trust by clerk or servant), 409 (criminal breach of trust by public servant, or by banker, merchant or agent), 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 467 (forgery of valuable security, will, etc.), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document or electronic record) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code at EOW police station.

According to news reports, if convicted, Grover and Madhuri and others can face up to anything between 10 years to life imprisonment. The EOW now has the power to arrest all the accused.
