Falaknuma Express catches Fire in Telangana, 3 Bogies Burnt, No Casualties

Hyderabad: Three compartments of the Howrah-Secunderabad Falaknuma Express caught fire near Hyderabad on Friday. This accident occurred between Bommaipally and Pagidipally in Telangana.

When the fire was sighted, the train was stopped and all passengers managed to get down. According to railway sources, no injuries have been reported.

The train runs between Secunderabad Junction in Telangana and Howrah Junction in West Bengal. It operates on a daily basis on the Nalgonda Guntur route.

CH Rakesh, CPRO South Central Railway said that all the passengers got down and no casualties has been reported. The fire had broken put on three bogies, S4, S5, S6, he added. Telangana: Falaknuma Express catches fire, four bogies burnt, no loss of life.

The incident took place between Pagidipalli and Bommaipalli villages in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district of Telangana, about 45 kms from Hyderabad. A major tragedy was averted as the alert railway staff could stop the train in time and all passengers could deboard.

It is alleged that short circuit led to this fire accident.
