Father Ends Life as Police Picks Up his Son for Questioning

Baripada: A 48-year-old man named Sugada Murmu, allegedly committed suicide at Haladia village under Kuliana police station limits in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Sunday night. He took this drastic decision when his son was picked up by police in relation to a complaint lodged against the youth by a girl.

Sugada’s 19-year-old son was taken into custody by a police team from Suliapada in a case related to a love affair. On Monday morning, Sugada was found hanging from a pole near his house.

Locals suspect he was completely upset because of the involvement of his son in the police case.

A police team from Kuliana police station recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem. An unnatural death case has been registered into the incident.

Police sources claimed that the son of the deceased was picked up only for questioning on the basis of a complaint filed by a college girl.
