Female Cop Breastfeeds Baby of Mother Appearing Exam in Malkangiri

Malkangiri: A woman police constable babysat and breastfed an infant while the baby’s mother appeared for Odisha Police Constable Recruitment Examination in Odisha’s Malkangiri district.

The police constable was identified as Basanti Choudhury. According to reports, one Chanchala Mallick turned up at the centre with her four-month-old daughter as she had no one to attend to her baby back home. Seeing her distressed, Basanti came up to help her. She not only provided exam-related assistance to Chanchala but also offered to babysit the infant while she was away.

The cop reportedly took care of the baby till the end of the examination and even resorted to breastfeeding to calm down the child.

This noble gesture was praised by Malkangiri police. Taking to his official handle on Twitter, Malkangiri SP wrote, “A candidate appearing for Constable (civil) recruitment examination today at Malkangiri was overwhelmed when Constable Basanti Chowdhary, deputed at the venue, took care of her infant baby while she was appearing for the exam. Kudos to both”.
