FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup: India to take on New Zealand in Play-off for Quarterfinals Today

Bhubaneswar: In the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup, India will face New Zealand for a quarter-final spot in the ongoing World Cup today in Kalinga stadium Bhubaneswar. The match will begin at 7 p.m.

In the last match,  India needed to beat Wales by a margin of eight goals to top Pool D and qualify directly for the quarterfinals but the home side could register only a 4-2 win on Thursday.

In another match, Malaysia will lock horns with Spain at 4.30 p.m. Both teams will be playing for the spot in the last eight.

Australia, Belgium, the Netherlands and England have already entered the quarterfinals.

The remaining four spots are being finalised through crossover matches involving teams who placed second and third in their respective pools. India stands 2nd in Pool D while New Zealand stands third in Pool C.
