Gujarat Couple Goes To Vote Straight From Wedding

Kutch (Gujarat): A newlywed couple went to cast their vote straight after their wedding during the first phase of state elections in Gujarat. The picture of the bride and groom clicked at the polling booth is going viral on the internet.

The couple, identified as Kavita and Vaibhav, went to vote in their wedding attire. The couple was spotted at polling booth number 208 in the Bhuj Assembly constituency in Gujarat’s Kutch district.

Similarly, in 2017, a bride-to-be decided to leave her Haldi ceremony midway to cast her vote during the 2017 Gujarat Assembly Elections. Fenny Parekh was spotted standing in the queue to cast her vote in Surat’s Katargam.

As per the Election Commission, Gujarat has a total of 9.8 lakh senior citizen voters.

The first phase of polling in Gujarat is continuing in 89 constituencies of 19 districts spread over Kutch, Saurashtra, and South Gujarat regions.

A total of 2,39,76,670 voters are to cast their votes today in Gujarat to decide the fate of 788 candidates who are in the fray for the first phase.
