Harley Davidson Eyes Royal Enfield Market With Its New Cheaper Bike X440

New Delhi: Harley Davidson has come up with its cheapest bike to target the Royal Enfield market in India.

The Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based manufacturer partnered with Hero MotoCorp, to unveil the first product of their joint venture, which is the cheapest Harley Davidson ever made.

It is the Harley Davidson X440, a single cylinder, 440cc motorcycle that aims to venture into the market segment ruled by Royal Enfield’s 350cc bikes. Royal Enfield is the top seller in the above 200cc motorcycle segment in India.

The Harley Davidson X440 is priced Rs 2.3 lakh onwards, which is a few thousand rupees more than the top model of the best-seller Royal Enfield Classic 350. There are a total of three variants of X440 on offer. The base variant ‘Denim’ is priced Rs 2.29 lakh, ‘Vivid’ for Rs 2.49 lakh, and the trim ‘S’ for Rs 2.69 lakh.

At present, the cheapest Harley available in India is the Nightster, prices for which begin at 17.49 lakh.

The base variant of X440 comes with wire spoked rims, while the more expensive variants come with alloy wheels and two-tone colour options.
