HM’s Second Marriage in School Without Divorcing First Wife   

Phulbani: The in-charge headmaster (HM) of a school in Odisha’s Kandhamal district allegedly remarried on the school premises without divorcing his first wife. Sripati Nayak, the headmaster in-charge of Sujamaju High School under Dariginibadi block is alleged to have gotten married for the second time on school premises. According to sources, the divorce case with his first wife is still pending.

His clandestine second marriage came to the fore when some photographs of his remarriage were posted on social media.

In the photographs, the erring headmaster was seen with another woman with ‘varmala’. Uploaded pictures also showed the newlywed couple cutting a cake in the presence of other teachers in the storeroom of the school.

Getting to know about this photographic evidence of her husband’s second marriage, his first wife Nirupama Dakua complained about it at the Baliguda police station. She pointed out that Sripati was not yet divorced from her, and how he could marry on school premises. According to sources, Nayak and Nirupama married two decades back in 2003. They have a 12-year-old daughter. According to Nirupama, her husband Sripati Nayak another woman on February 6 and is living with her at the storeroom of the school.

But Sripati Nayak refuted all the allegations made by his first wife. He claimed that the photographs uploaded on social media were clicked during his birthday celebrations. He termed the allegations made by his first wife as baseless and accepted that his divorce case is pending in court.
