Honour Killing: Daughter Shot Dead By Father In Mathura Over Inter-Caste Marriage

New Delhi: After a suitcase was found containing the body of a 22-year-old woman on the Yamuna Expressway in Mathura, police said that was killed by her father.

It is suspected that the accused father, Nitesh Yadav allegedly shot his daughter dead in ‘honour killing’ over inter-caste marriage.

According to police, the deceased, Aayushi Chaudhary’s mother and brother knew that she had been killed by her father. The trio has been arrested.

Nitesh Yadav was arrested after the police questioned him when he went to identify the body. Police teams have been deployed to find the weapon used in the murder.

According to the police, Aayushi had married a man named Chhatrapal, from another caste, without telling her family.

“Her parents were angry at what they believed was her defiance and ‘stubborn’ attitude. After shooting Aayushi with his licensed gun, Nitesh Yadav allegedly packed her body in a suitcase and dumped it in Mathura,” the police official said.

“Aayushi’s body was found wrapped in plastic in a large red suitcase near the Yamuna Expressway in Mathura last Friday. There was blood on the face and head and there were injury marks all over the body,” the police official added.
