India Offers Medicine Support to COVID Hit China

New Delhi: Despite China’s anti-India policies, India is ready to help out China in the battle against COVID-19. India has expressed that it is ready to export medicines for fever to China. This was stated to a news agency by the chairperson of a drug export organization.

China is now reeling under the threat of the new Omicron sub-variant BF.7 which has resulted in overflowing crematoriums and hospitals. India’s foreign ministry has suggested that as India is one of the largest producers of generic medicines, it is ready to help out China.

Germany has already sent its first batch of BioNTech Covid-19 vaccines to China. It is the first foreign coronavirus vaccine to be delivered to China.

At present there is an increased need for anti-fever medicines like Ibuprofen and paracetamol in China and China is facing shortage of these medicines. But their demand remains high.

“We are keeping an eye on the Covid situation in China. We have always helped other countries as the pharmacy of the world,” said Indian foreign ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi.  said at a news briefing.

China’s embassy in New Delhi is yet to respond to the development.
