India Records 3,016 New Covid Cases, Highest In Nearly 6 Months

New Delhi: India has logged 3,016 new coronavirus cases, while the active cases have surpassed the 10,000 mark after 134 days, according to Union health ministry data updated on Monday.

The death count has increased to 5,30,862 with six deaths. While one each was reported by Chandigarh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh in a span of 24 hours, and two were reconciled by Kerala.

The daily positivity was recorded at 2.7 per cent while the weekly positivity was pegged at 1.71 per cent.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has increased to 5,30,862 the data stated. The case fatality rate has been recorded at 1.19 per cent.

The active cases now comprise 0.03 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.78 per cent, according to the health ministry website.
