Indian Army Recruitment Rules Changed: Online Exam & One Can Apply Once a Year; Know Details

Cuttack: Indian Army has changed its recruitment rules and procedure. Youths aspiring to join Indian Army can apply only once a year for recruitment rallies. A common computer-based online entrance exam will be held first.

“A computer-based online examination will be conducted first as the major change in the method of the examination for recruitment in the Indian Army. The candidates can register online, but they have to be present in examination centers to appear in those online examinations,” said Cornell Haminder Singh, Director of the Army Recruitment Office, Cuttack at a press meet on Tuesday.

Briefing reporters about the various stages involved in the new recruitment scheme, he said that the common entrance exam will be held first and the physical and medical exam of the qualified candidates will be held later.

In the earlier recruitment procedure, the entrance exam used to be held after the physical test.

All aspirants will have to apply between February 16 and March 15 this year. They can apply only once a year for recruitment rallies.

As per the new recruitment system of the Indian Army, the first phase of the process includes recruitment notification, online registration, issue of admit cards, the conduct of the online Common Entrance Exam, publication of results and call-up.

The second phase involves admit card and biometric verification, physical fitness test, physical measurement test, medical examination and preparation of the final merit.

Notably, the registration process remains the same as earlier, and the candidates can either register using their Aadhaar Card or Class 10 certificate. The JIA website is now also linked with Digilocker for more transparency.
