IT Expert Arrested from MP by Odisha EOW in Job Fraud Case

Bhubaneswar: Arpit Panchal, an IT expert from Madhya Pradesh was arrested by Odisha EOW in relation to a major job fraud racket busted around a week back.

According to sources, Arpit Panchal is a resident of Jaora in the Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh. He is the second accused arrested in the large-scale job fraud scam.

He was arrested on January 10. Personnel of Odisha EOW brought him to Bhubaneswar after producing him before the JMFC Court in Jaora on January 11.

Arpit is alleged to have duped more than 50,000 unemployed youths across the country.

This racket was run by a group of tech-savvy engineers from Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh with the help of some adept website developers.

Arpit was the associate of Zafar Ahamad who has arrested earlier.

The cyber fraudsters had created 9 websites that were clones of Government websites advertising various government jobs.

They were using 4 of these websites in Odisha. Through them, they had cheated at least 12,000 job seekers in Odisha. From each of these duped youngsters, the cheats had collected Rs 3000 to Rs 50,000.

So far, at least 22,000 duped job seekers have been identified from Odisha and Gujarat. There are also victims from West Bengal, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh etc.
