JD (U) Leader Kailash Mahto Shot Dead in Bihar

Patna: Kailash Mahto, a prominent leader of the JD (U) was shot dead by unidentified bike-borne armed assailants on Thursday night in Katihar’s Barari Police Station limits in Bihar.

The 70-year-old JD (U) leader was killed near his home. He received bullet wounds in his stomach and head. According to police sources, past enmity over land dispute was the reason behind his murder. A few days back he had requested security cover from the administration.

According to Katihar police, the assailants fired around 4-5 rounds at the slain JD (U) leader. A manhunt is on to nab the culprits.
