Kangaroo Court Justice! Youth, Woman Thrashed For ‘Kidnaping Minor Girl’

Mayurbhanj: In another incident of kangaroo court justice, a youth and a woman were punished for allegedly abducting a minor girl in Karanjia tehsil of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district today.

According to reports, Mamata and Afzal reportedly kidnapped one Anam Dehury’s  13-year-old daughters from Batapalasa village on the pretext of taking her to witness the Rath Yatra. Her family and villagers launched a search for the girl when she did not return till late in the evening.

As per some villagers, the girl going somewhere on a motorcycle with Mamata and Afzal.

Following this, villagers nabbed Mamata and Afzal and tied them to a pole near the village water tank. The two alleged accused were beaten up mercilessly till the police arrived on Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, the missing girl is yet to be traced by the police and villagers. Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
