A key regional leader of the Islamic State terrorist group, Bilal al-Sudani was killed along with his 10 associates during a US military raid in Somalia. According to American officials, this raid of the hideout of ISIS terrorists was ordered by President Joe Biden.

Tracking down Sudani, US troops descended on a mountain cave complex in northern Somalia. The aim was to capture him alive. But he was killed during the gunfight.

Around 10 associates of Sudani were also killed on the spot by the US forces.

The American President had ordered this raid on January 25, said US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin in a statement.

Al-Sudani was responsible for the growing presence of ISIS in Africa and he was a key catalyst for funding the group’s operations worldwide, including in Afghanistan.
