Maoist Poster Found ahead of Bypoll in Padampur

Bargarh: Both political parties and voters were in Padampur, when a poster alleged to be put up Maoists was found in the area ahead of bypoll. It was seen pasted in Sadanandapur under Paikamal block of Odisha’s Bargarh district.

Earlier, two Maoists were shot down by police in an operation in the adjoining Balangir district.

While 10 days are left for the Padampur bypoll, the incidents have panicked the locals. This has put a challenge for police and security personnel to provide protection to voters and residents during campaigning and voting. Police have started an investigation to ascertain whether the poster was really pasted by Maoists or it was mischief by someone else.
